Senior Spaces

Senior Spaces

This innovative project is the work of Allan Kleiman. Analogous to a children's room or a teen room, the senior space is a special area of a library for seniors. Using principles of universal design and merchandising, the library has created a welcoming area for older readers and is supported by a full range of activities.

Allan's article in the ASCLA Interface explains the rational behind the project (13.5% of US population over age 60, and the number is growing) and gives more details.
