RHYW in the News and Online!

Bookseller + Publisher's October 27th issue announced RHYW's recent moveinto the New Zealand market, and a number of partnerships with New Zealand and Australian publishers. "ReadHowYouWant converts and republishes books in larger print sizes for visually impaired people who are unable to read books in standard print sizes...The Australian operation also converts and republishes books in Braille, audiobook and ebook formats."

Michael Covington, Information and Education Director of the ECPA, wrote a blog post for Brandilyn Collins's Seatbelt Suspense Forensics & Faith blog. "As there is no revenue stream for publishers (or royalties for authors) generated by accessible-content services such as Bookshare, most publishers will only occasionally license their content for large-print distribution (meaning 16-poing font) with companies such as Thorndike Press. Unfortunately, for many people affected by reading disabilities, a barely-larger font size doesn't solve the problem. Keep in mind that while Bookshare and NLS provide digitally produced audio files, not everyone has the equipment necessary to consume this media...RHYW has worked through all of these issues to provide a print-on-demand solution that allows the reader to pick the style of book they want…This model allows for additional revenue which is then shared with the publishers." Publisher Profile: Destiny Image

"Destiny Image successfully releases over 100 new titles each year and distributes over 1.5 million books annually worldwide," states President Don Nori, Jr. RHYW asked Don about how Destiny Image selects authors, their relationship with Dr. Myles Munroe, how technology is affecting Christian book publishers, and more. "Don Nori Sr. and his wife Cathy founded Destiny Image in 1983. They began the business from a small desk and rotary phone in the living room of their home. Don Sr. had a vision from God that he was to publish books for authors that other publishers would not carry." To read the entire interview with Don Nori Jr., click here.

His approach—that of positive apologetics—gives careful attention to crucial questions and concerns, including, the relationship of faith and reason, the existence of God, the problems of historical knowledge and miracles, the personal claims of Christ, and the historicity of the resurrection of Jesus. Click here to learn more about the availability of this title in accessible formats.

Publisher Profile: Lobster Press

Stephanie Hindley, Director of Sales & Marketing for Lobster Press, was interviewed by RHYW. Her answer to the question "What technological changes are most affecting the children and YA publishing industries?" discusses both new opportunities and challenges: "There are a lot of opportunities out there, especially for children's publishers. In addition to the ebook market, which is affecting everyone, we are also working with different companies to develop and distribute animated and online audio versions of our books, and more. ReadHowYouWant provided us with an especially unique opportunity, not only to get alternative editions of our books distributed, but to deliver multiple formats directly to consumers, digitally. The biggest change for us is simply time management. We now need to make time to focus on these new markets, while still maintaining and growing our line of print books."
