I am pleased to announce that ReadHowYouWant has a new Publishing Partner: Demos Medical Publishing, specifically their imprint, Demos Health.

For more than 20 years, Demos has filled a unique educational need for physicians and other health care professionals as well as for people with disabilities and their families. The company publishes world-class texts in neurology, rehabilitation medicine, growing lists in oncology, pathology, and cardiovascular medicine, and acclaimed patient books in multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, epilepsy, stroke, spinal cord injury, and many others.

In October 2007, Demos Medical Publishing LLC. embarked on a new and exciting venture: the launch of its first health and wellness imprint, Demos Health. This imprint furthers the company’s mission of bridging the gap between consumers and the healthcare community, and help to fully distinguish between Demos’ existing professional and patient lines.

This move solidified Demos’ position among the leaders in patient health care publishing. Among the highlights in the Demos Health program are 101 Accessible Vacations: Travel Ideas for Wheelers and Slow Walkers, Mental Sharpening Stones: Manage the Cognitive Challenges of Multiple Sclerosis, Arthritis: 300 Tips for Making Life Easier, Women, Work, and Autoimmune Disease, and Reduce Your Cancer Risk: Twelve Steps to a Healthier Life. Demos Health will continue to publish new editions of the company’s bestselling titles on such subjects as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, and epilepsy.

“We are committed to keeping the standards and quality that Demos is known for in our patient publications, while making the content and topic areas more accessible to a wider audience,” said Noreen Henson, Director of the new imprint.

As of April 8, 2009 there are 98 titles on the growing list of Demos Health books; they plan to load an initial batch of 60 titles in our system during the next few weeks. We should have them available for sale in our editions beginning in May.
