Do You Have an Accessible Librarian Story to Tell?

Free Books at Midwinter!
Come see us in Booth 1311. We will give a free copy of one of our large print books to the first 100 librarians who ask. Come see us in the exhibits hall early in the conference so you don't miss out. The books will go fast!

Win 10, 15 or Even 25 Bestselling Large Print Nonfiction Titles
While you're in our booth, leave your business card, scan your badge or just fill out a paper entry form for a chance to win a nice shot in the arm for your large print collection. First prize will be one copy each of our top 25 bestsellers. Second prize will be one copy each of our top 15 bestsellers. And, you guessed it, third prize will be one each of our top 10. The list prices work out to $418 for the top 25, $244 for the top 15, and $155 for the top 10, so these are prizes well worth going after. Needless to say, other than entering the drawing, you need not be present to win, and we will ship the donation of books to your library after the conference.

These top titles include Leadership and Self-Deception, Stillness Speaks and The Anatomy of Peace. They are sure to boost your large print circulation and help you retain thoughtful large print readers who are also probably good library supporters in your community.

Take a look at our blog for a complete list. It's at

Save 40% on Large Print Bestsellers
To get the free book or enter the drawing described above, you have to attend Midwinter in Denver, but to take advantage of this special, all you have to do is order 10 or more books from among our top 25 bestsellers. If you order fewer than 10 of these, we will still double your normal discount so that you will get 20% off on this order.

These are new nonfiction bestsellers in large print. You cannot go wrong with them. Click this link for the complete list:

Read About Us in the ASCLA Interface
The current edition of the ASCLA Interface has a nice article on us and our effort to increase the amount of content available to visually impaired readers. (Truthfully, I wrote it myself.) Click the link below to read the Interface. Danielle King of the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library also contributed a fascinating and well-documented article on how the aging of the population is affecting the needs of library patrons. Her article is just above mine, which is about half way down the page. And, if you're not already a member of ASCLA, please consider joining. ASCLA is your best source of professional information on providing library services to populations with special needs.

Tell Us Your Story
Every librarian has great stories to tell, and if you have one about your work with visually impaired or blind readers, then please share it with us. We would love to publish it. We are looking for stories that offer a solution to the challenges of serving visually impaired patrons. It would be nice if it included our books as part of the solution, but it doesn't have to. Send me an email if you want to submit your story.

That's the news for this month. Please contact me if I may be of any service. I hope to see you in Denver!

Correction to Amazon LP Bestsellers Link

Sorry, but I inadvertently linked to the second page of Amazon's list of LP bestsellers. This link is the correct one. I should add that Amazon also offers an RSS feed that will keep you updated on this list. The link to subscribe is near the bottom of the page.
